MARGI SAJEEV NARAYANA CHAKYAR:
With the early training of Koodiyattam under his father, Guru Moozhikulam Kochukuttan Chakyar, he joined Margi Koodiyattam Centre, Trivandrum for his higher studies in Koodiyattam under eminent gurus. He has performed extensively in temples in Kerala and festivals of Sangeeta Nataka Academi, New Delhi, and travelled around India and abroad with his performances. He has handled the oral sections in all plays – “Vidushaka” for his special skills in oral comic in speech and manner. He currently works as senior Koodiyattam artiste/teacher at Margi Koodiyattam Centre, Trivandrum.
MARGI MADHU CHAKYAR:
Born in 1966, Margi Madhu Chakyar did his MA in Koodiyattam, at Margi, Trivandrum. He also had the honor to attain tutelage under eminent gurus like Padma Bhushan Dr Ammanoor Madhava Chakyar, Padma Sree Moozhikulam Kochukuttan Chakyar, Padma Sree P.K. Narayanan Nambiar and M. Madhavanunni. Having attained scholarships and fellowships from the Government of India for his higher studies, he has bagged many awards at State, national and international levels including the Kerala Sangeet Natak Academi award in 2011 and Kala Puraskaram from London in 2013. Margi Madhu has given numerous performances within the state, almost all parts of India and abroad. His workshops and experiments were mainly outside Kerala and abroad along with participations at various seminars. He was selected member and held many positions as director in many art organizations and bodies in Kerala as well as in New Delhi. With a vast teaching experience as Lecturer and now serving as Assistant Professor in the department of Theatre at Sreesankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala. Margi Madhu has written and composed many stage manuals (Attaprakara) for many plays and also involved in the publications of many books and articles in the same field.
Dr INDU. G:
Having done her B.Ed in Malayalam and MA in Koodiyattam and PhD in Koodiyattam under the Department of Malayalam, this talented artiste did her gurukulam training for Koodiyattam for 15 years under the eminent Guru Moozhikulam Kochukuttan Chakyar, spouse Margi Madhu and Smt. Usha Nangiar. She also has 10 years of training in Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam under Smt. Kalamandalam Chandrika. Participated in many workshops, Seminars and performances in most parts of India and abroad, she has bagged many coveted awards including the recent Devadasi National Award in 2015. She has published several poetries and articles in periodicals and books.
NEPATHYA SREEHARI.M CHAKYAR:
A young student of Koodiyattam and Koothu, he has undergone six years of training at Nepathya, Moozhikulam in vesham and koothu and following his father’s footsteps under the training of his father, Sri. Margi Madhu Chakyar at Nepathya, Moozhikulam.
NEPATHYA JINESH:
Post Graduate in M. Com, with eight years of training in Mizhavu and presently working at Nepathya, Moozhikulam as Mizhavu artiste. He has given numerous performances in India and abroad.
A Mizhavu artiste from Nepathya, Moozhikulam, he has taken eight years of training in Mizhavu from Kerala Kalamandalam. His specialization is in Mizhavu and Pathakam and has given many performances in India and abroad.
A Koodiyattam edakka artiste, presently working at Nepathya, Moozhikulam, he has taken seven years of training in Chenda and Edakka. He has given many performances in India and abroad.
A young student of Koodiyattam and Nangiarkoothu, she has followed her father’s footsteps and under the training of her father Sri. Margi Sajeev Narayana Chakyar.
A diploma holder in Chutti and Costume for Koodiyattam, from Kerala Kalamandalam, this talented artiste has received scholarship from the Government of India in Performing arts. He has travelled along with Koodiyattam artistes for performances, all over India and abroad.
